Chumash Casino

The Chumash Casino Resort is an Indian casino in California's Santa Ynez Valley. It is located on the Chumash Indian Reservation just south of the town of Santa Ynez. The casino/resort is located on the south side of California State Route 246, also known as Mission Road, three miles east of the city of Solvang with its charming Danish theme and many shops and restaurants. The casino opened in its present form in August 2003.

The casino is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It features hundreds of slots and tables games including Black Jack, Thee Card, Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, and Let It Ride. The casino also has Bingo, Keno, and a live poker room with cash games and daily tournaments. The poker room is located on the upper level. The casino also has the Haku Gift Shop, which sells clothing, painting, sculptures, art, pottery and jewelry relating to the Chumash Indian culture, other gifts.

MISSION VALLEY

The Chumash Casino Resort is in a scenic location in the Santa Ynez Valley near the Santa Ynez River and Santa Ynez and San Rafael Mountains. Santa Barbara is only 45 minutes away to the south and Pizmo Beach is one hour to the north.

The hotel is four-diamond rated. Many of the hotel rooms have picturesque views of the valley and mountains. The resort features a spa and many amenities including an excellent pool, hot tub, fitness center, laundry services, room service, business center, check cashing services, in-room safes, and free valet parking.

If the Chumash is full or a more affordable option is desired, visitors may wish to consider the excellent Hotel Corque, which is also owned by the tribe. The Hotel Corque is in the city of Solvang and has excellent rooms with views and an outdoor pool.

There are a variety of dining options at the Chumash. There is The Willows, which specializes in steaks and seafood; Creekside Buffet; which has all you can eat ethnic and American cuisines; and the Chumash Café, which is open 24 hours a day and serves Starbucks Coffee.

The Chumash also has a 1,400-seat convert venue. It offers regular performing artists including major recording artists such as Cindy Lauper, Sara McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Brooks & Dunn, Michael Bolton and Meat Loaf. It also hosts comedic performers such Penn & Teller and Jay Leno. The venue also has mixed martial arts events, boxing matches, and other events.

The Chumash Casino offers daily shuttle bus service serving various central California coast locations cities and a bingo bus. The casino attracts out-of-town visitors and residents in the region including the cities of Santa Maria, Lompoc, and San Luis Obispo.
